PG&E – Civil & Structural, MEP Engineering

• Prepare the specifications for a spare Generator Step-up (GSU) transformer including protection scheme, location of high voltage and low voltage connections, control cabinet and radiators; required dress and tests; also prepared a complete engineering package for replacement of an existing GSU and use of the spare unit to minimize the time required to place the spare unit in use.
• Provided electrical engineering designs for pump and motor controls and switching relocation.
• Provided construction management and oversight of chiller and other equipment maintenance
• Prepared the design package for the relocation of ammonia supply lines to the HRSGs at the Gateway Generation Station, including P&ID of the double contained ammonia piping, civil/structural design for new walkway and cross over stairs, trench and pipe support structures, electrical single line diagram and conduit layout with leak detection alarms.
• Performed electrical and civil design engineering for installation of intake water screens at the Humboldt Bay Generating Station.
• Performed mechanical design and construction drawings for new water connection and additional valves at the Fuel Cell/Water connection at San Francisco State University.
• Prepare documentation for Hydro Generation California ISO meter replacement project including modifications to three-line diagrams, ISO metering certification.

IMTCEC Acculine

CE provided Engineering Services for the permitting and installation of a Proton H6 Hydrogen Generator and associated equipment including a 10-ton chiller and hydrogen storage tank at IMTEC Acculine in Fremont, CA.

Activities included:

• Performing equipment layout for the hydrogen generator, chiller, condenser on the roof, and hydrogen storage tank, which were replacing three multi-pack hydrogen cannisters.
• Providing seismic/structural calculations and anchoring design and determining if the existing concrete foundation needed any modifications for the 11,000 lb. hydrogen tank
• Reviewed code requirements for separation needs and provided a piping plan for utility connections and hydrogen lines.
• Provided electrical plans and alarm/sensor modification plans.

QuantumClean – Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Construction Management

CE has provided engineering and environmental support services to QuantumClean facilities in Fremont, San Jose, CA and Phoenix, AZ, including:

• Performed seismic evaluations for tank and equipment anchoring in the hazardous waste treatment and process areas.
• Performed engineering oversight of secondary containment system refurbishment at the Acid Waste Neutralization System.
• Oversaw environmental work being performed on lift stations, chemical storage tanks, and collection tanks.  Installed a valve and fittings through the secondary containment of a collection tank.  Determined anchoring and bracing for system.
• Provided secondary containment fixtures and seismic restraints for hazardous material systems.
